The prolonged downpours—driven by a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal—caused over 100 mm of rainfall across 106 locations, with Dumkuali in Nawalparasi district recording a peak 466.2 mm of precipitation. The catastrophic weather destroyed nearly 260 homes, damaged 80 others, and displaced 3,000 residents who were relocated to emergency relief camps. Helicopter rescue operations were deployed in remote northern mountainous districts including Jajarkot, Myagdi, and Sankhuwasabha. Furthermore, Nepal's National Tourism Board warned that approximately 9,000 foreign tourists, trekkers, and mountaineers remain stranded across affected regions, with authorities advising visitors to suspend travel plans immediately.
