Houthi Rebels Launch Second Missile Strike on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport Within 24 Hours
Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, which faced consecutive ballistic missile attacks by Houthi rebels on Wednesday and Thursday.

Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebel group launched a second ballistic missile strike targeting Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport early Thursday (October 8, 2026), occurring within 24 hours of an earlier assault that left three dead and 36 injured across Saudi airports.

Houthi military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Qasim Saree confirmed the early morning attack on X (formerly Twitter), stating that armed forces executed a successful ballistic missile operation that precisely hit its intended target, disrupting airport operations. The strike follows a series of drone and missile attacks on Wednesday targeting King Khalid International Airport, Abha International Airport, and three Saudi military installations. The repeated aerial incursions come immediately after the Saudi-backed internationally recognized Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council announced plans for a large-scale military counter-offensive against Houthi forces. According to United Nations figures, the latest resurgence in hostilities since July has internally displaced more than 200,000 individuals across Yemen, severely intensifying regional security concerns along the Arabian Peninsula.
