In Balochistan's Chagai district, security forces engaged insurgents in the Nokcha area after armed operatives set fire to public water storage infrastructure and attempted to disrupt transport along National Highway N-40. Two militants were killed during the encounter as forces moved to secure the transit corridor. Meanwhile, in a separate intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in Bara town, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces neutralized five members of the Fitna al-Khawarij terror group. A large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered, and a key militant hideout was completely destroyed. Security officials reaffirmed that counter-terrorism drives will persist until insurgent networks in both provinces are fully dismantled. The escalation in cross-border militant activity follows persistent security challenges along the Afghan border.
