The casualty count from Saturday's Saudi coalition airstrike on Al-Sharaya village in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, has escalated to 33 dead and 39 wounded, according to an official update released on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
Houthi Health Ministry spokesperson Anis Al-Asbahi stated on X that the death toll surged after search-and-rescue teams cleared rubble in the devastated village. Al-Asbahi revealed that Saudi aircraft executed a double-tap strike, targeting paramedics and emergency responders who rushed to the scene immediately following the initial bombardment. Video footage broadcast by Al-Masirah TV showed rescue workers sifting through thick plumes of smoke and collapsed concrete structures. Saudi Arabia has maintained official silence regarding the casualties in Al-Sharaya.
