RIYADH — Saudi Arabia will issue 50,000 new work visas for Bangladeshis under a renewed labour pact that, for the first time, caps recruitment costs and mandates direct employer-paid tickets and insurance.
Nurses, heavy drivers, AC technicians and hospitality staff top the demand list, with minimum wages fixed in riyal terms. A joint task force will blacklist agencies charging above the ceiling.
'This is the single biggest protection win for our workers in a decade,' the expatriates' welfare adviser said. Pre-departure training centres will open in all eight divisions, teaching Arabic, labour rights and financial literacy.
