Saudi-Yemeni Coalition Destroys Two Houthi Ballistic Missile Launchers in Sanaa Following Intercepted Riyadh Strike
Coalition air defense systems actively neutralizing cross-border threats over Saudi airspace.

The Saudi-Yemeni military coalition launched a swift precision air campaign early Monday morning (October 26, 2026), destroying two ballistic missile launchers belonging to the Iran-backed Houthi movement in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.

Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Malki confirmed via social media platform X that one of the destroyed installations was actively utilized to fire a ballistic missile toward the Saudi capital of Riyadh at 3:42 AM. Saudi Air Defense systems intercepted and neutralized the incoming missile, prompting coalition forces to launch counter-strikes in Sanaa within an hour and a half. Maj. Gen. Al-Malki emphasized that the targeted operation was conducted in full compliance with international humanitarian law to protect civilians from persistent Houthi cross-border attacks.

The counter-operation follows a surge in Houthi missile and drone launches targeting key urban and holy sites across Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh, southern provincial cities, and areas near Mecca (such as Wadi Al-Mughammas). Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense and Civil Defense reported that falling shrapnel from intercepted missiles in Khamis Mushait and Ahad Rafidah injured two individuals—a Saudi national and an Asian expatriate—while damaging three residential structures and seven vehicles. Coalition air defense systems also successfully intercepted two attack drones and a cruise missile, followed by the neutralization of ten additional ballistic missiles launched toward southern Saudi Arabia.
