Eight more individuals have died from measles and related symptoms across Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, bringing the total nationwide death toll from confirmed measles and suspected cases to 1,055 this year.

According to the daily health bulletin released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday (October 10, 2026), 5 out of the 8 recent fatalities were recorded in the Dhaka division alone. During the 24-hour period ending at 8:00 AM Friday, a total of 1,086 new patients presenting with measles symptoms were admitted to various hospitals across the country.

Division-wise admissions include 528 in Dhaka, 226 in Chattogram, 104 in Sylhet, 83 in Barishal, 59 in Khulna, 42 in Mymensingh, 14 in Rajshahi, and 30 in Rangpur. DGHS data shows that since March 15, a total of 180,945 patients have been admitted to hospitals with measles symptoms, of whom 173,454 have been discharged following treatment. The cumulative number of suspected measles cases nationwide has reached 203,448, with 22,328 laboratory-confirmed infections and 104 confirmed fatalities.
