Anti-Terrorism Act Case Underway Against Two Arrested Retired Military Officers, Confirms DMP
DMP Media and Public Relations Division Deputy Commissioner Md. Akhtar Hossain briefing the press on the ongoing case preparation against the two arrested retired army officers.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has confirmed that legal proceedings under the Anti-Terrorism Act are currently underway against two retired military officers who were arrested during a targeted intelligence operation by the Detective Branch (DB).

Speaking at a press briefing at the DMP Media Center on Monday afternoon (October 12, 2026), Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the DMP Media & Public Relations Division, Md. Akhtar Hossain, informed journalists that DB officers executed the arrests based on specific intelligence inputs.

Addressing queries regarding the specific legal provisions involved, the DMP official stated that while the case is actively being processed under the Anti-Terrorism Act, exact charge sections and formal details will be disclosed once the First Information Report (FIR) filing is completed by DB personnel. The development follows high-level security investigations into the duo—retired military officers Lt. Gulshan Ara and Lt. Col. Debashish—as law enforcement agencies continue their nationwide counter-threat operations.
