Bangladesh and United Kingdom Forge New Framework to Combat Organized Immigration Crime and Protect Citizens
The British High Commission in Dhaka, which announced the new bilateral framework between Bangladesh and the UK to combat organized immigration crime and trafficking networks on Sunday.

Bangladesh and the United Kingdom have agreed to establish a new cooperative framework aimed at tackling organized immigration crime and safeguarding citizens from predatory criminal syndicates that exploit vulnerable people through fraudulent migration processes.

According to a press release issued by the British High Commission in Dhaka on Sunday (October 11, 2026), the landmark partnership establishes a structured mechanism for enhanced collaboration between the two countries. The initiative is designed to detect, deter, and dismantle organized immigration crimes, including document and visa forgery, human trafficking, and other illegal migration-related offenses.

This new pact reflects the enduring and close relationship between Bangladesh and the UK, reinforcing their shared commitment to protecting Bangladeshi nationals from criminal networks profiting from unsafe and irregular migration channels. Under this agreement, both nations will ramp up intelligence sharing, operational coordination, and hold regular review meetings to assess progress. British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cook emphasized that the partnership underscores both nations' firm resolve to shield citizens from criminal groups seeking financial gain through migrant exploitation, while supporting legitimate travel and safe legal pathways.
