Reaffirming the administration's commitment to press freedom, Chowdhury stated that the government has no intention of controlling mainstream media outlets. Instead, authorities are consulting journalist associations to establish a clear legal distinction between accredited media professionals and social media channels operating under fake journalist credentials. To protect legitimate journalists, the government is actively evaluating a proposal requiring prior judicial approval before cyber law actions can be initiated against registered print, electronic, and online press members.
