Bangladesh Mahila Parishad presents human rights monitoring data documenting gender-based violence across the nation.

A monthly statistical report released by Bangladesh Mahila Parishad reveals that 252 women and young girls were subjected to various forms of violence across Bangladesh during September 2026.

According to a press statement signed by General Secretary Maleka Banu on Thursday (October 1, 2026), compiled by the organization's Central Legal Aid Sub-Committee from 15 national daily newspapers and two online portals, the incidents include 49 cases of sexual assault—comprising 30 young girls and 19 women. Among the sexual assault victims, nine were subjected to gang rape, four girls were murdered post-assault, and one girl died by suicide. Furthermore, 52 individuals (39 women and 13 girls) were murdered during the month, while 45 mysterious deaths (34 women and 11 girls) were logged. The report also highlights 22 incidents of sexual violence, 14 suicides, eight dowry harassment cases resulting in five fatalities, eight abductions, and eight attempted child marriages, emphasizing the urgent need for enforced legal safeguards and expedited judicial remedies.
