Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) officers during routine anti-crime operations in the capital, where 452 people were arrested in 24 hours.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 452 individuals and registered 32 cases during a series of coordinated 24-hour anti-crime operations across the capital.

According to information confirmed on Sunday (October 11, 2026) by Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the DMP Media and Public Relations Division, Md. Akter Hossain, the special drives were conducted across all police divisions in Dhaka.

A breakdown of the arrests indicates that Mirpur Division apprehended the highest number with 114 individuals, followed by Wari Division with 66, Tejgaon Division with 60, Motijheel Division with 55, Lalbagh Division with 53, Gulshan Division with 35, Uttara Division with 33, Ramna Division with 25, and the Detective Branch (DB) with 11 arrests. During the operations, police recovered an unexploded cocktail bomb, partial cocktail remnants, 5,931 Yaba tablets, 90 grams of cannabis, and 144 bottles of local liquor.

Additionally, law enforcement seized a covered van, a motorcycle, a CNG auto-rickshaw, a machete, six mobile phones, two lighters, two pairs of scissors, and a travel bag, while successfully rescuing one victim. DMP officials confirmed that legal proceedings against the arrested suspects are currently underway.
