
The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved 13 projects involving a total cost of Tk 16,207.55 crore at its 5th meeting held at the Bangladesh Secretariat, chaired by Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Among the approved initiatives—comprising 10 new, 2 revised, and 1 time-extension project—is a major Tk 2,498.08-crore project to construct a 442-MW peak solar power plant at Rampal in Bagerhat by the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB).
Other approved schemes cover local government infrastructure development in Dhaka, Rangpur, and Gazipur, cooperatives and rural infrastructure, shipping, railway capacity expansion through 30 metre-gauge locomotive procurements, a chancery building renovation in Paris, and road construction projects.
