The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the 13th National Parliament has recommended implementing a strict "zero tolerance" policy against harassment to guarantee the safety and security of female athletes across all sporting disciplines.
Presided over by Parliamentary Committee Chair Md. Abul Khair Bhuiyan at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Wednesday (October 7, 2026), the committee convened its maiden meeting, which was attended by State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haq upon special invitation. The parliamentary panel adopted several key measures aimed at safeguarding youth and advancing domestic sports infrastructure, including widespread media promotion for Notun Kuri Sports 2026-27 (Season 2) and mandatory vocational and athletic training programs to combat youth drug addiction. To expand grassroots athletics, the committee urged Members of Parliament to take immediate steps toward constructing playgrounds and biogas plants in every union across their respective constituencies. Addressing administrative integrity, the committee warned against corruption in ministerial development projects, ordering strict quality controls to prevent contractors from utilizing substandard materials in sports facility construction.
