A mobile court has sentenced a 25-year-old job candidate to one month of simple imprisonment after she was caught attempting to take photos of a recruitment exam question paper using a mobile phone to leak them outside.
The incident occurred on Friday (October 16, 2026) during the recruitment examination for the post of Assistant Youth Development Officer under the Department of Youth Development at the Begum Badrunnessa Government Girls' College examination centre in the capital. The information was confirmed by Md. Noor Alam, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The convicted candidate was identified as Reshma Akter (25), hailing from Rajarhat Upazila in Kurigram District. According to invigilators, during the examination, Reshma secretly whipped out a smartphone and tried to snap photos of the question paper to transmit them outside. The hall supervisor caught her red-handed and immediately turned her over to centre authorities.
Subsequently, an executive mobile court was convened on-site, led by Md. Aminul Islam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of the Lalbagh Revenue Circle. Upon initial interrogation, the candidate confessed to the misconduct. The mobile court convicted her and handed down a one-month simple imprisonment sentence. Her smartphone was confiscated, and she was subsequently transferred under police escort to prison to serve her term.
