Gold Prices Surge in Bangladesh: 22-Karat Reaches Record ৳2,29,664 per Bhori Following ৳12,072 Cumulative Hike
Gold retail and wholesale trading in Dhaka adapting to rapid price adjustments driven by local bullion supply dynamics.

Gold prices in the domestic market have experienced a significant surge, with the price of 22-karat gold jewelry rising by ৳5,482 per bhori (11.664 grams). Including VAT, the highest-quality 22-karat gold jewelry has now been fixed at a record ৳2,29,664 per bhori.

The price revision was announced on Thursday, November 5, 2026, by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) following a meeting of its Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, chaired by Dr. Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen. The new rates took effect at 10:00 AM on Thursday. BAJUS attributed the sharp increase to the rising price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local bullion market.

This marks the third price hike in four days, following earlier revisions on November 2 and November 4. Across these three consecutive adjustments, the price of 22-karat gold has jumped by a cumulative ৳12,072 per bhori. Meanwhile, BAJUS kept silver prices completely unchanged, maintaining 22-karat silver at ৳3,499 per bhori (including VAT).
