Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir has formally handed over a recovered MacBook laptop to German tourist Krill Lander-Weber at Police Headquarters in Dhaka, while rewarding two Natore police officers for their swift operation in solving the theft.
According to an official press release issued on Tuesday (October 13, 2026), Lander-Weber arrived in Bangladesh on September 23 to visit historical landmarks. Following a formal complaint, a coordinated investigation team comprising Natore Sadar Police, District Police, Railway Police, and Tourist Police recovered the stolen MacBook on October 11 at 9:30 PM from Noor Clothing Store in Natore's Kapuriapatti area.
In recognition of their exceptional professionalism and role in enhancing the image of Bangladesh Police, IGP Ali Hossain Fakir presented financial awards to Natore Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mansur Rahman and Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Shahadat Hossain. Expressing deep gratitude, Lander-Weber lauded the dedication of Bangladesh Police, while the IGP directed all police units to maintain tourist-friendly policing and ensure the safety of foreign nationals.
