Motorcyclist Killed After Being Struck by Private Car in South Keraniganj
The emergency entrance of Dhaka Medical College Hospital in Dhaka, where motorcyclist Yakub was pronounced dead following a road accident in South Keraniganj on Tuesday.

A 38-year-old businessman was killed after a high-speed private car violently struck his motorcycle in the Abdullahpur area under South Keraniganj on Tuesday evening.

The victim was identified as Yakub, son of Abdul Barek from Char Gulgulia village in Sirajdikhan Upazila, Munshiganj. According to family members, Yakub, who worked as a real estate developer and land merchant, was riding his motorcycle to inspect a property in Abdullahpur on Tuesday afternoon when the speeding vehicle rammed into his bike, throwing him onto the road with severe physical trauma. Relatives rushed him in critical condition to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where attending physicians declared him dead upon arrival on Tuesday evening (October 6, 2026). Inspector Md. Habibur Rahman, In-Charge of the DMCH Police Outpost, confirmed the fatality, stating that the body has been transferred to the hospital morgue for autopsy procedures and that South Keraniganj Police Station has been notified to initiate legal proceedings against the driver.
