No Comment on Death of Ex-BAF Officer Tahsif Before Autopsy Results: Home Minister
Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed delivering his address at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sarda, Rajshahi.

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed stated that no official comment or conclusion can be made regarding the death of former Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Flight Lieutenant KM Tahsif Suri until the complete autopsy report is made available.

Speaking as chief guest at the passing out parade of the 27th Apprentice Sergeants and 43rd Cadet SI-2006 Batch at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sarda, Rajshahi at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 29, 2026, the Home Minister responded to reporter queries regarding the officer's mysterious death. "No comment can be made regarding the body of former Air Force officer Tahsif without a complete autopsy. We will comment only after knowing all details and facts," the Minister affirmed.

Reiterating the administration's broader security mandate, Minister Ahmed declared that the government's foremost priority is restoring public order and establishing peace. He praised the police force's gradual recovery from the institutional damage inflicted during the previous fascist administration.

The body of former Flight Lt. Tahsif was recovered by the Tongi River Police from the Turag River near Rajabari Ghat in Uttarkhan on Wednesday afternoon, October 28, 2026, following a national emergency service 999 alert. The body was identified using an iPhone found in his pocket and has been sent to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for an official post-mortem examination.
