Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated a three-day housing fair at the lobby of the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre on Monday (October 5, 2026) following a discussion marking World Habitat Day 2026 under the theme “Universal Housing, Sustainable Urbanisation”.

After planting a 'Golden Champa' sapling and unveiling a commemorative publication, the Prime Minister toured various stalls representing REHAB, RAJUK, the Public Works Department, banking services, and other housing sector stakeholders.

Chaired by Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher, the event featured addresses from Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo, Housing and Public Works State Minister Ahammad Sohel Monzoor, UN Resident Coordinator Carol Flore-Smereczniak, and Ministry Secretary Md. Obaidur Rahman, with the Premier emphasizing the importance of safe, affordable housing and sustainable urban development for all citizens.
