Kotwali Police seized 102 sacks of illegally imported Indian textiles and arrested three individuals during a joint raid at a warehouse in Old Dhaka's Wiseghat area early Friday morning.

Acting on precise intelligence provided by the National Security Intelligence (NSI), a police team raided the basement warehouse of Samad Plaza in Wiseghat around 3:30 AM on Friday (October 9, 2026). During the operation, officers confiscated 102 sacks of smuggled Indian clothing items and detained three suspects identified as Md. Saifur Rahman (37), Md.

Songram Hossain (30), and Md. Babu (37). Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Robiul Islam confirmed that a case under the Special Powers Act was filed by police on Friday evening. Investigators are currently tracing the supply chain and origin of the contraband while examining whether the detainees belong to a broader cross-border smuggling syndicate operating in the capital.
