President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in discussion with the ICAB delegation led by President Sabbir Ahmed during a meeting at Bangabhaban in Dhaka on Monday.

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called upon the country's chartered accounting professionals to act with absolute integrity and competence to ensure transparency, accountability, and financial discipline across public and private sector institutions.

The President made these remarks on Monday (October 5, 2026) during a courtesy call at Bangabhaban by a six-member delegation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), led by its President Sabbir Ahmed. President Mirza Fakhrul highlighted that audit and accounting professionals play a pivotal role in maintaining institutional governance, safeguarding investor confidence, and sustaining economic stability. During the meeting, the ICAB delegation briefed the President on the institute's current professional initiatives and extended a formal invitation for him to attend the upcoming international conference organized by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) in November as chief guest. The President accepted the invitation and assured the delegation of his presence. Senior Bangabhaban officials and secretaries to the President were also present during the discussion.
