Marking World Teachers' Day 2026, Munshiganj upazila observed the day on Monday morning (October 5, 2026) through a rally and a discussion meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room. Presided over by Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Syeda Nurmohal Ashrafi, the event featured Member of Parliament for Munshiganj-3 Md. Kamruzzaman Ratan as the chief guest. Key attendees included Civil Surgeon Dr. Sajeda Begum, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) Sharif Ullah, Additional Superintendent of Police Kamran Hossain, District Education Officer Shariful Islam, and Munshiganj Press Club President Atiqur Rahman Tipu.
During the program, a total of Taka 2,58,58,960 was distributed among 162 teachers and staff. Discussions focused on upgrading primary teachers' grades, ensuring regular and uninterrupted basic pay for MPO-enrolled teachers, enhancing teacher-student relationships, and safeguarding educators' rights.
