President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called upon the country's youth to step forward and engage in business and commerce during a courtesy call by a 21-member Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) delegation led by President Taskeen Ahmed at Bangabhaban on Monday (October 5, 2026).
Highlighting the need to meet modern technological challenges like AI and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the President urged the business community to invest in the energy sector, reduce bank interest rates, and support industrialization in backward regions akin to past low-interest loan initiatives.
The DCCI delegation apprised the President of their potentials and demands, invited him to the upcoming Bangladesh AI Business Summit 2026—which he accepted—and discussed aligning with national economic goals, while the President also emphasized the collective responsibility to institutionalize democracy and combat past corruption and banking sector destruction.
