Govt honours 102 eminent teachers on World Teachers’ Day

On the occasion of World Teachers’ Day 2026, the government honoured 102 eminent educators from various educational levels for their remarkable contributions to teaching and nation-building.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman handed over a certificate, a crest, and a cheque of Taka 200,000 to each recipient during an official event organized by the Ministry of Education at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Monday afternoon.

The honored cohort comprised 10 primary teachers, 20 from secondary level, 25 from colleges, 20 from general universities, 10 from medical institutions, three from agricultural universities, three from engineering universities, four from specialized universities, alongside seven additional teachers personally selected by the Prime Minister.

The celebration highlighted the indispensable role of educators, reinforcing the national commitment to safeguarding teachers' professional dignity, rights, and career development.
