Prime Minister Orders MP Ferdousi Ahmed Mishti to Resign Over Radda MCH Center Demolition
The prime minister directs parliamentary resignation following the destruction of the Radda MCH-FP Center in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman has directed Member of Parliament Ferdousi Ahmed Mishti to resign from her parliamentary seat following allegations surrounding the vandalism and destruction of a local healthcare facility, official government sources confirmed on Thursday (October 1, 2026).

Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, Atiqur Rahman Rumon, confirmed the directive to the press on Thursday afternoon. The order follows a midnight attack on September 24, during which the Radda MCH-FP Center at Mirpur-1 in Dhaka was ransacked, looted, and subsequently demolished using heavy machinery. While MP Mishti publicly denied involvement in the incident, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed stated on Wednesday that strict legal action would be taken against anyone implicated in the investigation regardless of political standing. Concurrently, the BNP leadership executed major organizational shake-ups, dissolving the 51-member convening committee of Dhaka City North BNP alongside the Dhaka City North Juba Dal committee, while initiating disciplinary actions against several regional leaders.
