Bangladesh recorded its highest single-day dengue mortality of the year as 11 patients died from Aedes mosquito-borne viral fever over the past 24 hours, according to an emergency bulletin released on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
During the same 24-hour window, 2,071 new patients were admitted to public and private hospitals nationwide, reported the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With these latest figures, the cumulative dengue death toll in Bangladesh for 2026 has reached 400. Furthermore, total dengue-related hospitalizations since January 1 have surged to 128,237. The 11 daily deaths recorded on Tuesday surpass the year's previous single-day fatality peaks of 10 deaths, which were recorded on October 6 and October 15, indicating an ongoing peak in seasonal vector transmission across urban and rural centers.
