Law enforcement authorities have brought the situation in Dhaka's Mirpur-10 under control following violent morning clashes between hawkers and police during a sidewalk eviction operation conducted by the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
Mirpur Model Police Station Duty Officer Md. Shahidul Islam confirmed that additional police forces were deployed to the location to disperse the rioting crowds and stabilize the area. Before order was restored, aggrieved hawkers set fire to city corporation garbage trucks and vandalized multiple vehicles, including a police patrol van and media broadcast units parked nearby. The Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation arrived on the scene to inspect the damage and oversee municipal cleanup efforts as security personnel maintain a heightened presence to prevent further unrest.
