Two members of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) have officially stepped down from their constitutional posts, citing personal grounds in their resignation letters.
According to sources from the President's Office, former Secretary Md. Mohiuddin submitted his resignation letter on October 15, while Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Professor M. Sohel Rahman tendered his resignation on October 17. The President formally accepted both resignations on Sunday (October 18, 2026).
With these two exits, the active member count of the 20-member constitutional body now stands at 18. This development follows the earlier resignation of former PSC Chairman Professor Mobasser Monem in August, after which Dhaka University Law Professor Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuian was appointed as the new PSC Chairman on September 2 and took oath on September 6. Unconfirmed reports suggest that a few more PSC members may step down in the coming days, though no official statements have been released regarding further resignations.
