According to the daily bulletin issued by the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) on Tuesday (September 29, 2026), water levels in the Ganga river increased slightly over the past 24 hours, while the Padma river remained stable. The Ganga's water level is expected to remain stable for two days before rising over the subsequent three days, whereas the Padma's water level will likely remain steady over the next five days. In northern Bangladesh, the Teesta, Dharla, and Dudhkumar rivers registered receding water levels, a trend expected to persist over the next three days along with the Surma-Kushiyara rivers in the northeastern region. Meanwhile, the deep depression previously stationed over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining Myanmar coast has moved inland, weakened into a land depression, and continues to dissipate. Meteorological agencies forecast light to moderate rainfall across internal regions and upstream catchments over the next three days.
