6 Arrested with Drugs and Arms in Kaliakair

Police arrested six individuals along with illegal drugs and weapons during a special raid in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur. Acting on a tip-off, a special team led by the officer-in-charge of Kaliakair Police Station conducted a drive in the Andhar Manik area on Sunday morning, apprehending notorious local drug dealer Maidul Islam (35).

Based on information provided by Maidul, police subsequently recovered 1 kg of cannabis, 550 Yaba tablets, and several local weapons, while also arresting his associates—Nazmul (32), son of Motiur Rahman; Raju (19), son of Abul Hossain; Kabir Hossain (45), son of Abul Kalam; and Ibrahim (45),

 son of the late Yunus—all residents of Andhar Manik village. Local resident Iman Ali expressed relief,

 stating that the police operation rid the area of notorious criminals, allowing residents to live in peace.

 Kaliakair Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahidul Islam confirmed that cases have been filed regarding the recovery of drugs and arms, and the arrestees have been sent to court custody.
