Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a nationwide "Public Awareness Week" from October 4 to October 10, 2026, aimed at preventing the spread of dengue as cases surge across the country.
In an official statement released on Friday afternoon (October 2, 2026), the party expressed concern over the severe escalation of vector-borne illnesses and preventable fatalities across Bangladesh. The campaign will officially launch on Sunday, October 4, at 9:00 AM at the Modhubag playground in Maghbazar, Dhaka, led by Jamaat Ameer and Leader of the Opposition Dr. Shafiqur Rahman MP. The initiative aims to mobilize citizens, party activists, and civic organizations to implement localized mosquito eradication measures, clear stagnant water reservoirs, and raise public health awareness across urban and rural communities. Jamaat leadership urged all sections of society to actively collaborate to protect public health during the weeklong program.
