BNP PM Assistant Rashed Khan Urges Jamaat to Learn Islamic Values from Hefazat-e-Islam
PM Political Assistant Md. Rashed Khan exchanges views with Hefazat-e-Islam Ameer Allama Muhibbullah Babunagari in Chittagong.

Md. Rashed Khan, Political Assistant to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, stated on Friday (October 2, 2026) that Jamaat-e-Islami should learn how to promote authentic Islamic values from Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh.

Speaking to reporters following a courtesy meeting with Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Ameer Allama Muhibbullah Babunagari at Al-Jamiyatul Islamiah Azizul Uloom Babunagari Madrasa in Fatikchhari, Chittagong, Rashed Khan criticized Jamaat-e-Islami's political conduct, alleging that the party has strayed far from true Islamic values. Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to the Hefazat supreme leader, Khan commended Babunagari for raising public awareness before the national elections against political groups exploiting religion and promising "tickets to heaven." Khan urged Jamaat to focus on national reconstruction alongside anti-fascist political forces rather than pursuing power through political opportunism, noting that Hefazat's leadership has rightfully questioned long-march protests against the seven-month-old government. Chittagong Zila Parishad Administrator Mahbuber Rahman Shamim and Fatikchhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sayed Mohammad Ibrahim were present during the meeting.
