Jamaat Wants Legitimacy Seal from Awami League Secretly: Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has accused Jamaat-e-Islami of having a clandestine nexus with the ousted Awami League. Accusing the party of spreading falsehoods and propaganda, he said, "They need a seal from the Awami League. The public still questions their role in 1971. Because of this, they maintain a relationship with the Awami League, both secretly and openly, on every issue to get a valid seal."

Participating in a leaflet distribution program for dengue awareness in Fakirapool, Dhaka, today (Saturday), Rizvi stated, "Secretly, they want a seal from the Awami League and are spreading propaganda. But our work—standing by the people and working for their welfare—is being carried out under the directives of Tarique Rahman." Addressing Jamaat, Rizvi remarked, "Some opposition leaders say, 'They eat biryani and give us chocolate.' Well, chocolate costs a lot." He urged them not to confuse the public with such statements, noting that the government is working responsibly, which is earning it praise at home and abroad.

Rizvi further stated that the public will never accept attempts to create anarchy within the country through falsehoods, propaganda, and covert alliances with undemocratic forces. Highlighting the government's achievements, Rizvi noted that Bangladesh holds a better position than neighboring India and Pakistan in the Global Hunger Index, reflecting the administration's sound policies. The program was attended by BNP Joint Secretary General Advocate Abdus Salam Azad, Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, Swechchhasebak Dal Vice-President Dr. Zahidur Rahman, and Chhatra Dal Vice-President Dr. Touhidur Rahman Awal, among others.
