Ahead of the upcoming Union Parishad election, Mashiur Rahman has announced his candidacy for the post of Ward No. 4 Member in No. 6 Bishwanath Sadar Union Parishad under Bishwanath Upazila of Sylhet.
Mashiur Rahman has gained widespread discussion as an honest, qualified, youth leader, social worker, and trusted community figure. Born on February 5, 1981, in Dharamda village of Ward No. 4 in Bishwanath Sadar Union, he is the son of the late Alhaj Afsar Mia Master, a former Chairman of Bishwanath Sadar Union. He completed his SSC from Ramsundar Model Government High School, followed by HSC and BA degrees from Sylhet Government College. By profession, he is a journalist and businessman. Currently, he serves as the Convener of the Bishwanath Journalists Union, the Bishwanath correspondent for Dainik Janata and Dainik Kajir Bazar, and the Executive Editor of the online news outlet Dainik Surma Parer Kantho.
Regarding his candidacy, Mashiur Rahman said, "I have a deep spiritual bond with the people of Ward No. 4. I have always tried to stand by the side of ordinary citizens in their joys and sorrows. I am optimistic and strongly believe that the voters of my area will give me the opportunity to work for local development through their votes. Together with the residents of this ward, I want to build a modern, corruption-free, and attractive model ward. I seek the prayers, sincere support, love, and cooperation of every citizen in Ward No. 4."
Addressing the residents, he added, "My main goal is to serve the people and remain by your side. Your love and support are my greatest strength." Local residents noted that Mashiur Rahman has long been actively involved in community welfare and standing by ordinary people in times of need.
