Addressing a protest rally organized by Jatiyatabadi Olama Dal at the North Gate of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque following Friday prayers, Rizvi asserted that the BNP alliance government came to power through a free and fair election to work for public welfare and social protection. He strongly commended Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), emphasizing that Tarique Rahman represents the third generation of his family to speak at the UNGA following late President Ziaur Rahman in 1980 and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in 1992. Rizvi noted that the Prime Minister delivered an extraordinary speech advocating for diplomacy, education, and humanity over arms, while reiterating support for a sovereign Palestinian state, the dignified repatriation of Rohingya refugees, and sovereign equality among nations. Presided over by Olama Dal Convener Maulana Gazi Md. Salim Reza, the rally concluded with a protest procession through the area.
