Australia Rest Star Trio for England Series; Uncapped Mahli Beardman Earns Surprise Call-Up
Australian white-ball squad members gearing up for the high-stakes summer series against England.

Cricket Australia has announced its limited-overs squads for the upcoming home series against England—consisting of three ODIs and five T20Is—featuring notable exclusions and an exciting debutant call-up.

To manage player workloads ahead of the crucial Test series against New Zealand starting in December, premier pace trio Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc have been rested following their heavy workload in the recent Test series against South Africa. Meanwhile, young fast bowler Mahli Beardman has earned a surprise maiden call-up across both white-ball squads following an impressive performance for Australia ‘A’ against India, where he picked up 5 wickets in 2 matches.

The squads also feature maiden T20I call-ups for Sam Harper and Lachlan Shaw, while Jake Fraser-McGurk and Mitchell Owen return to the five-match T20I setup. Hard-hitting batsman Tim David missed out on selection for the ODI squad, dealing a blow to his prospects ahead of next year’s World Cup, though he remains in the T20I squad. Both teams will be captained across formats by Mitchell Marsh.
