Speaking to journalists during an official post-match press conference in Nagoya on Saturday (October 3, 2026), Litton addressed the team's dismal batting displays against second-tier squads from Pakistan and Sri Lanka. "We were not up to the mark in terms of our batting today. We came here with a big target, and when that wasn't achieved, we had another option [the bronze medal], but we missed that opportunity too because we failed to play good cricket," Litton stated. Individually, Litton managed just two runs across two matches, including a golden duck in the bronze medal playoff against Sri Lanka. When questioned on whether he intended to step down from the captaincy given the disparity in resources compared to other discipline athletes, Litton dismissed the idea, asserting, "No, I do not want to resign. Cricket has its ups and downs—some days are good, some are bad. There is nothing here to resign over." Head coach Mohammad Salahuddin expressed deep embarrassment over the outcome as the team prepares to return home without a podium finish.
