Following back-to-back disappointments in the Asia Cup and Asian Games, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has overhauled the management structure of the women's national cricket team, relieving head coach Sarwar Imran and team manager Faiyaz of their duties.
Former High-Performance (HP) coach and national batting coach David Hemp has been appointed as the new head coach and is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on October 1 to assume control. Bulbul Bashar replaces Faiyaz as team manager. The coaching shakeup follows a medal-less campaign at the Asian Games where Nigar Sultana Joty's side lost to rival Pakistan, failing to replicate their bronze medal finish from the previous edition. A 16-member squad, feature-marked by the return of batter Murshida Khatun, is slated to depart for Australia on October 3 to play a three-match ODI series following a brief domestic preparation camp.
