The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided not to send any national team selectors with the men's and women's squads for their upcoming international assignments in Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
The women's national cricket team, currently in Japan for the Asian Games, will fly directly to Australia to play an ODI series against the hosts upon concluding their tournament. Meanwhile, the men's team—currently training at Mirpur—will travel to the UAE for a Test match against Afghanistan followed by a tri-nation series involving Zimbabwe.
Breaking away from the long-standing tradition of having at least one selector accompany national teams on bilateral series, BCB sources confirmed that selectors will no longer routinely travel on every tour. Instead, the board will adopt a need-based policy, deploying selectors overseas only for high-priority or strategic series.
