The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to overlap directly with the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the third consecutive season after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) finalized the March 18 to May 2 window for PSL 12.
While the PSL traditionally operated in a February-March window from 2016 through 2024, scheduling shifts were forced in 2025 due to the ICC Champions Trophy hosted by Pakistan, and in 2026 due to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
For the upcoming season, official broadcasting partner Walee Technologies voiced objections over holding the league post-Ramadan, citing potential reductions in advertising revenues. Broadcasters advocated moving the tournament back to January-February.
However, severe winter fog across Punjab venues—including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan—combined with international tour commitments against Ireland, rendered an earlier start unfeasible. Following an e-mail survey conducted by the PCB, a majority of the eight franchise owners voted to retain the March-May timeframe.
Consequently, the PSL 12 window will once again collide directly with the IPL, raising concerns regarding international player availability and broadcast ratings across both leagues.
