Sobhana Mostary Smashes Historic Maiden Century as Bangladesh Women Set Record 220/6 Against Australia
Bangladesh batter Sobhana Mostary celebrating her historic maiden ODI century alongside captain Nigar Sultana Joty during the second WODI against Australia in Brisbane on Sunday.

In a historic display of resilience and batting mastery, Sobhana Mostary scored her maiden One-Day International (ODI) century to propel Bangladesh Women to a record-breaking total of 220/6 in the second WODI against Australia at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Sunday (October 11, 2026).

After Bangladesh suffered a disastrous start—slumping to 8 for 3 following the early dismissals of Farzana Hoque, Sharmin Sultana, and Sharmin Akhter—Mostary joined captain Nigar Sultana Joty to mount a monumental recovery. The duo constructed a record 195-run partnership for the fourth wicket, marking the highest partnership for any wicket by Bangladesh in women's ODIs and the highest ever against Australia in the format.

Mostary stroked 18 boundaries in her sublime 118 off 134 balls, registering the highest individual score by a Bangladeshi female cricketer in international cricket history, surpassing Joty's previous unbeaten 113 against Maldives in 2019. Mostary fell in the 48th over to Megan Schutt, while Joty remained unbeaten on 74 off 114 balls, guiding Bangladesh to their highest team total against Australia in women's ODIs.
