According to the latest figures released by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) on Saturday (September 26, 2026), apparel shipments to the UK reached $915.63 million during the July–August period, marking a 3.74% increase from $882.62 million recorded in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Following a minor 2.44% drop in July—when exports stood at $450.82 million compared to $462.08 million in July 2025—shipments surged by 10.53% in August to $464.81 million. Mohiuddin Rubel, former Director of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and CEO of Bangladesh Apparel Voice, noted that while August's double-digit recovery anchored the positive two-month trend, maintaining long-term momentum will depend on order flows, buyer confidence, and navigating international market challenges throughout the remainder of the fiscal year.
