A partnership agreement has been signed between non-governmental development organizations BRAC and Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK) aimed at providing technical training and employment opportunities for more than 15,000 unemployed youth.
The agreement was signed on Wednesday (October 7) at the head office of Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK) for the implementation of the EARN project.
G. M. Riazul Islam, Training Management Expert of the BRAC Skills Development Programme, signed the contract on behalf of BRAC, while Coordinator Aftab Hossain signed on behalf of Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK).
Senior officials and management team members of the BRAC EARN project were also present during the signing ceremony.
Under this agreement, technical training will be imparted to over 15,000 unemployed young men and women through 108 Village Level Training Centers (VLTC) across four upazilas in Gaibandha and Rangpur districts. Alongside skill development through training, direct employment and self-employment opportunities will be created for the trainees.
Officials expressed optimism that this initiative will play a crucial role in enhancing youth skills at the local level and expanding employment prospects across the region.
