
To keep students away from mobile phone addiction and drugs, a 20-day handball and volleyball training camp has officially kicked off in Rangpur. Samsuzzaman Samu, Chairman of the Rangpur Development Authority, inaugurated the training program on Thursday afternoon (October 1) at the Shaheed Abu Sayed Stadium premises in Rangpur.
Presided over by Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Israt Jahan, the inaugural ceremony was addressed by Rangpur District Sports Officer Masud Rana, Rangpur Football Association President Monjur Ahmed Azad, Divisional Sports Association Member Shamim Khan Miskin, Kabaddi Sub-Committee Convener Tanveer Hossain Ashrafi, Volleyball Sub-Committee Convener Shariful Arif Prodhan, Member Secretary Samsul Alam, and Handball Sub-Committee Convener Tofazzal Hossain.
Organized by the Rangpur District Sports Association, the camp features 64 participants from 30 secondary schools and madrasas for handball training and 40 trainees from 22 institutions for volleyball training. Instructors noted that the initiative will play a vital role in creating national and international-level athletes while promoting physical and mental development among youth.
