In an exemplary display of respect and courtesy, Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Member of Parliament for Pabna-5, chose to sit on the side of the stage rather than taking center stage out of deference to senior academics, freedom fighters, and dignitaries. The incident occurred during an event celebrating the anniversary of Channel i at the Pabna Press Club on Thursday (October 1).
Attending as the chief guest, MP Shimul Biswas noticed senior educators, freedom fighters, and local leaders on stage—including veteran educator Mahtab Uddin Biswas, Professor Shibjit Nag, District Council Administrator and Freedom Fighter Johurul Islam Bishu, District Commissioner Aminul Islam, and Superintendent of Police Abu Ashraf. Out of deep respect for his elders and former teachers present, the MP took a seat on the far side of the stage. His gesture earned widespread praise from attendees, who noted that honoring age, knowledge, and teachers above political stature serves as an inspiring model for society.
