
Chandanaish police arrested 5 individuals, including drug suspects, warrant-holders, and those convicted by a mobile court, during a special drive conducted from Saturday night (October 10) to Sunday morning (October 11).
The drive was led by Chandanaish Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) S. M. Didarul Islam Sikdar. The arrestees are Md. Sajjad Hossain from Ramu, Cox's Bazar; Muhammad Rafiq from Dohazari Municipality; Md. Shahidullah from Maheshkhali; and Aiyub Mia and Md. Salim from Jowara Union.
According to the police, Sajjad Hossain was arrested in a drug case (Case No. 07/26), Muhammad Rafiq under three CR warrants related to electricity laws, Shahidullah under Section 151 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and Aiyub Mia and Salim were sentenced to 7 days of simple imprisonment with a fine of 100 Taka each by a mobile court for drug consumption.
The mobile court was conducted by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Jhontu Bikash Chakma. OC S. M. Didarul Islam Sikdar confirmed the arrests and stated that the accused have been sent to court, while such operations to maintain law and order will continue.
