border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 95 bottles of Indian liquor during a drive along the Nalitabari border in Sherpur.

Members of the Ramchandrakura BOP, under the Mymensingh Battalion (39 BGB), conducted the operation in the Katabari (Shimul Bagan) border area of the upazila early Tuesday (October 6).

According to sources, acting on a tip-off, BGB personnel carried out the raid in the Katabari (Shimul Bagan) area of Nalitabari Upazila early Tuesday morning and recovered 95 bottles of abandoned Indian liquor. The estimated value of the seized liquor is BDT 1,42,500. However, no smugglers were arrested during the drive.

Confirming the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Nurul Azeem Bayezid, Commanding Officer of Mymensingh Battalion (39 BGB), stated that BGB remains on round-the-clock duty to safeguard the international borders of Mymensingh and Sherpur districts and to prevent any illegal activities. He added that BGB drives will continue to stop drugs, smuggled goods, and illegal border crossings.
