
A violent attack involving 34 individuals was reported at the Bagdirbazar Taluk Dulali Ashrayan Project in Aditmari upazila, Lalmonirhat, over an attempt to forcibly occupy a government-allocated house.
According to the complaint, the accused used a drill machine to cut open the doors of the house, entered inside, beat and injured an elderly mother and her daughter, and forcefully evicted them before taking control of the property.
The victims also accused the attackers of looting valuables worth approximately Tk 2,20,000, including gold ornaments, silver jewelry, and a sewing machine.
The injured victims, Bulbuli Begum and her daughter Rozina Begum, were admitted to the Aditmari Upazila Health Complex.
While Bulbuli remained hospitalized, Rozina was discharged after treatment but stated she is unable to return to her officially allocated Ashrayan house.
Based on Rozina's complaint, a formal written petition has been filed with Aditmari Police Station naming 14 individuals—including Fazol Haque, Mokbul Hossain, Keramat Ali, Hazrat Ali, Hasan Ali, Mohor Ali, Mominul Islam, Sajeda Begum, Sumi Begum, Shiuli Begum, Asia Begum, Sohiton Begum, Babu Mia, and Bayazid Mia—along with 10 to 15 unnamed suspects.
Aditmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazmus Sakib confirmed that a complaint has been received and legal action will be taken following an investigation.
