The installation of the Automated Process Control System (APCS) has been successfully completed in both the first and second units of the under-construction Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Ishwardi, Pabna.

Additionally, the Operator Information Support System (OISS) is being implemented for the first time in a Rosatom-built nuclear power plant outside of Russia.

According to a press release issued by Rosatom on October 13, 2026, the APCS encompasses nearly 20,000 devices across 43 systems to continuously monitor over 7,000 operational parameters of the power plant. This advanced technology will significantly enhance the safety, reliability, and overall operational efficiency of the facility.

The OISS technology analyzes data from 360 process-related systems to identify potential errors or deviations in advance. It includes over 80 guidelines to assist operators in making rapid, informed decisions during emergency situations. The system has already been connected to the first unit, where it is actively supporting startup activities, and will subsequently be implemented in the second unit.

Rosatom highlighted that this modern automation system will reduce emergency response times, lower operational costs, and ensure the safe operation of Bangladesh's premier nuclear power facility.
